Track SBI expenses automatically

State Bank of India transaction alerts, YONO notifications, and credit card charges — organized into one spending dashboard without spreadsheets.

State Bank of India is often the family “legacy” account — salary, pensions, scholarships, and shared household spends all flowing through one or more SBI savings accounts. YONO and YONO Lite make paying effortless, but the trail of email alerts grows just as fast: account debits, UPI confirmations, and SBI Card statements that rarely live in the same mental bucket.

Paisewise turns those SBI alert emails into categorized expenses. With read-only Gmail access it reads known SBI and SBI Card sender addresses, extracts each transaction, and shows monthly totals without asking you to download passbooks or type YONO payments into a sheet.

Why SBI households struggle with expense tracking

SBI customers frequently juggle a primary savings account, a joint account with parents or a spouse, and an SBI credit card. YONO UPI payments look tiny in isolation, yet they dominate daily spend. End-of-month “where did it go?” usually means scrolling YONO history on the phone while searching Gmail for “debited” — two incomplete pictures.

SBI alert formats also vary by product: savings alerts, YONO payment mails, and SBI Card charge notifications are worded differently. A tracker that only understands one template misses half the story. Paisewise is designed around the alert emails Indian banks already send, including the SBI variants most households receive.

Which SBI alerts Paisewise tracks

Paisewise connects to your Gmail with read-only access and pulls transaction alerts from known SBI and SBI Card sender addresses — not your personal mail. Typical sources include:

  • SBI savings and current account transaction alert emails
  • YONO and mobile-banking payment confirmation messages that arrive as bank alerts
  • SBI UPI debit notifications tied to your linked account
  • SBI Card charge, payment-due, and statement notifications

Parsed transactions land in one categorized dashboard so pension credits, grocery UPI, and card EMI can sit side by side without a passbook printout.

Tips for SBI and YONO email alerts

YONO is where many SBI customers enable or review notification preferences. Email alerts (not only SMS) are what Paisewise needs for a durable spending history.

  • In YONO or SBI Internet Banking, verify that debit and credit alerts are emailed to the Gmail inbox you plan to connect — including joint accounts you want in the household view.
  • If you hold an SBI Card, confirm card alerts go to the same inbox; otherwise savings UPI and card spends will never meet in one report.
  • SBI sometimes sends OTP and security mails alongside transaction alerts. Paisewise focuses on known transaction-alert senders; keeping OTP mail separate with a Gmail filter reduces noise when you spot-check.
  • For multi-generation households, see the family expense tracker page — SBI joint accounts are a common reason families want one shared dashboard, which is on our roadmap rather than in the product today.

How Paisewise stays safe with your SBI mail

Paisewise uses Google's read-only Gmail scope. It cannot send, delete, or modify your mail, and it focuses on known Indian bank and card-issuer alert senders — not your personal conversations. It cannot move money, and you can revoke access from your Google account at any time. Full detail is on our privacy policy.

Most households use more than one bank. When alerts from SBI and your other institutions share the same inbox, they are extracted into one ledger with UPI spends and categorised monthly trends, so the full picture lives in one place.

SBI expense tracking — FAQ

Does Paisewise need my YONO login?

No. Paisewise does not use YONO, Internet Banking, or ATM credentials. It only reads SBI transaction-alert emails already delivered to your Gmail, with Google’s read-only scope.

Can I track a joint SBI account?

If the joint account’s alert emails arrive in a Gmail inbox you connect (with the other holder’s consent), those transactions can be extracted like any other SBI alert. Note that Paisewise has no household or multi-member view yet — everything lands in one signed-in account’s ledger.

Are SBI Card spends included?

When SBI Card charge and statement alert emails reach the connected inbox, Paisewise can extract those transactions alongside savings-account alerts. SMS-only card alerts are not enough — enable email notifications on the card.
